Your New Holy Grail Cookie Recipe (AKA the Best Cookies Ever!)
Hold the presses! I have officially found the best cookie recipe on the internet. I know. My mind is blown. The search is over folks! I will never use another cookie dough recipe again. Can’t change perfection!
Cookies are so delicious, yet so easy to mess up at the same time. I don’t know about you, but I love a chewy cookie with that soft center. No cake-like cookies for me! Or even worse.. cookies that end up rock hard soon after baking. So sad!
I got a huge urge to make some cookies right after lunch, no idea why. I realized I was out of baking soda, so I gave a call to the hubby to grab some on the way back from the gym. I decided to do half of the batter with chocolate chips and keep the other half as a plain sugar cookie. My husband doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies… I can’t understand this concept, haha. Chocolate makes everything better!
Man oh man. Let me tell you, you will be struggling so hard not to gobble these up straight out of the oven. When they come out, they look so soft (even slightly undercooked), but cool down to a super yummy and soft cookie that will blow your mind. You do need to chill these in the refrigerator for a minimum of two hours, but it is so worth it in the end.
I’ve had these in an air tight container for a day now, and they are just as soft and chewy as when they came out of the oven. I’m serious folks… this is your new holy grail recipe! You can add anything into it to make it what you want. I’m definitely thinking of whipping up another batch of this dough for snickerdoodles soon.
The recipe in question is from the lovely Joy of Baking Joy. She has quite a few delicious looking cookie recipes, so you can get lost on her site for awhile in sugary goodness! I used her Tri-Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe and tweaked it a bit to fit my picky husband. It was oh so goood! But be warned… these won’t last long in your house because they are just that good.
What is your favorite cookie?
